00:00The news today is that the Pope will be discharged tomorrow.
00:04That's very important for everybody all over the world.
00:08The Holy Father, at the time of his admission to Gemelli Hospital,
00:12presented an acute respiratory failure due to polymicrobial infections,
00:18viruses, bacteria, and mysids,
00:21that resulted in severe bilateral pneumonia
00:25that required a combined pharmacological treatment.
00:29The Holy Father was never intubated,
00:32and he always remained alert and oriented.
00:37The Holy Father will be discharged tomorrow, as we said before,
00:41in a stable clinical condition,
00:43with a prescription to partially continue drug therapy
00:49and a convalescence and rest period of at least two months.
00:53About our experience when he was at the risk of his life,
00:57this is very personal.
00:58I can tell you that, as for every patient,
01:02all the staff, Dr. Carboni, myself, and all other colleagues,
01:06that only some of them, I said before,
01:10they were all in charge to try to solve the problem.
01:15And today we are happy to say that tomorrow he will be at home.
