00:20The inaugural FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup that will be held here in the Philippines
00:27will be held from November 21 to December 7.
00:32FIFA, Philippine Football Federation and local organizing committee are ensuring
00:38that the country will be ready to ensure the successful hosting of the prestigious tournament.
00:44During the visit of FIFA Director of Tournament Jaime Yarza,
00:48he shared the reason why the Philippines was chosen by FIFA
00:52to be the pioneer of the inaugural Futsal Women's World Cup.
00:56One of the things that really caught our attention was the good project from the federation
01:01and the strong support from the government to the World Cup.
01:05It was really something that caught our eye.
01:08It was really a good match I think for what we wanted to do.
01:13At the same time for us it was very important the legacy that we could leave in the country, in the region
01:19and we were completely aligned with the federation in that sense.
01:22I think a little bit all of these elements together is what convinced the FIFA council to grant it to the Philippines.
01:38Well, it's 16 teams from all over the world and as you said only OFC, Oceania has concluded the qualification.
01:45New Zealand is qualified as well as Philippines.
01:48The UEFA qualification started right now and by the end of May we should know all the countries.
02:10There's a lot of work to be done.
02:11Of course we wanted to make sure that they are within FIFA standards
02:16and I think this is achievable together with the Philippine Sports Commission, with Chairman Dicky Bachman.
02:22We're going to make sure that we will show the world that our venue is top class.
02:42Now that we already have the all women's futsal event
02:45then it pushes us to really see that this sport is not just quote unquote for men
02:51but it's as equally as exciting and even maybe even more we don't know
02:57but we'll know this World Cup na lumala kung sa Tagalog lumalaban ang mga babae
03:02and this is the perfect opportunity for women to really show the skills that we have
03:07and how the sport can really push forward women empowerment and just how women play.
