00:00The Philippines is targeting a new historic feat in the upcoming 2026 IHC Nagoya Asian Games

00:06after the Olympic Council of Asia signed the Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA, as a medal sport.

00:13The MMA in the Asian Games will have six weight divisions, four for men and two for women,

00:20where it will also be divided into two disciplines, such as traditional and modern MMA.

00:26The competition is expected from Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Iran.

00:35But due to the strong fight of the Filipinos in combat sports, the Philippines is expected to be a strong contender here.

00:42The country's target is to continue the success of the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China,

00:50where the first men's basketball gold was won by the Philippines after 61 years.

00:57Also included in the prize for the Philippines in the Asian Games are Sinapol Volter, Eje Obiena,

01:03and Jiu-Jitsu athletes Sinamegu Ochoa and Ani Ramirez.
