Kanpur man outsmarts cyber fraudster, makes him pay instead

A scammer tried to extort money from Kanpur’s Bhupendra Singh with a fake case. But what happened next left even the fraudster stunned.

00:16not only avoided the trap, but also managed to take 10,000 rupees from the scammer's account.

00:24It all started on 6 March 2025 when the fraudster called Singh, claiming to have obscene videos

00:30of him and demanded 16,000 rupees from Singh to close the case, followed by a fake FIR.

00:40But Singh wasn't buying it.

00:42Instead of panicking, he created a fake story and told the fraudster that he was a student

00:47and couldn't arrange the amount.

00:48He then added,

01:05The scammer called again and Singh spun another tale.

01:09One fake story after another and the scammer, still unaware, transferred the money again

01:14and again.

01:30The scammer later realised he had been played and admitted how he had tricked many others

01:34in similar ways.

01:35Singh reported the entire incident to the police and the money he received from the

01:39fraudster was handed over to the authorities.

01:42Singh planned to donate the amount to someone in need.
