Dan Burn 'not in England squad to be a cheerleader'

Dan Burn says he wants to contribute to the England team and is eyeing a place in the 2026 World Cup squad.

00:00I'm not just coming in to sort of be a cheerleader and help the boys out, I want to play.

00:05I feel like I've got the ability to play at an international level and I've said it for a long time,

00:10but you need to be given those opportunities.

00:13In the past, I obviously contributed to previous managers, but I've not been able to get that chance,

00:18so now I really want to just make the most of it and try and get on the pitch as much as possible.

00:23Yeah, I would say Monday definitely wasn't on my radar,

00:27but now I think that's got to be the ultimate aim.

00:30I feel like there's going to be a lot of steps that I'm going to have to go through to get there,

00:36but I feel probably being in that very first camp is important.

00:41It sort of means that at the moment I am there, but as I said, I don't want to be there.

00:46For no reason I want to be there, because I've proven to people that I should be there,

00:50and as I said, taking my chance.
