00:00This is now coming in with regard to the Delhi hajj committee slamming the waqf bill protest.
00:11This is very important. Remember there has been protests with regard to the anti, to
00:16the hajj, to the waqf amendment bill and the protest against it. Now hajj panels read the
00:24bill then protest. Day after Islamic bodies got together to protest in Delhi, the hajj
00:31panel is saying Delhi, waqf bill and the amendment coming with it will benefit everyone. The
00:37Delhi hajj committee has questioned why are you protesting? At least read the bill, the
00:41details, then protest.
00:54The amendment bill is for transparency and accountability. With this, transparency and
01:01accountability will increase. There are some people who are just running things on their
01:07own terms. This won't work. That is why I will say again, I have said this before and
01:15I am repeating it, that this step is being taken for the betterment of the Muslim community
01:20by the government.
01:22My colleague Piyush Mishra joining me for the latest on that. Piyush, that is a very
01:26interesting comment that has come in that at least the protest should come after you
01:30have read the details. But tell us more about what the hajj panel has said and what is the
01:34status with the protest because Oversee was also seen at Jantar Mantar.
01:39Well, the protest continues Pooja and this entire cabal of Muslim leaders, they have
01:44decided to protest until the time, you know, this bill is not taken back. They are saying
01:50that if this bill is tabled in parliament and if it gets passed, then they will protest
01:56across the country. Yesterday we saw a lot of Muslim leaders staging their protest including
02:02Asozhan OSCE and various political opposition parties, they had also joined that protest
02:07which also includes Samajwadi Party, Congress and various others. So the opposition is of
02:12the view that the government is trying to bulldoze this bill on the minority here in
02:17the country. On the other side, the government representatives have made it very clear that
02:22this bill is going to give a lot of benefits to poor Muslim women, to poor strata of Muslim
02:28society. It is going to give back them their rights and there is a lot of accountability
02:33and transparency also in this entire bill. We also spoke to Jagadambika Pal who is the
02:39chairperson of JPCO and Vax Bill. He also made it very clear that all the protesters
02:44should read what is there in the Vax Bill and then only they should go and protest.
02:49In fact, he also highlighted that the JPCO had held various meetings, multiple deliberations
02:55have taken place and after that itself the report has been submitted. Now we will have
02:59to wait and watch how the politics is going to escalate on this entire matter.
03:02So if there is a group saying at least let's read and if it is about holding accountable,
03:07holding answerable, should we look at that too. Thank you very much Piyush, we will be
03:10tracking about the protests too.
