00:06The special court has denied bail to Kannada actor Rania Rao in the gold smuggling case,

00:14Rania Rao was arrested on the 4th of March for allegedly attempting to smuggle 15 kgs
00:19of gold which was valued at 12 crore rupees from Dubai into India.
00:24During the hearing, Rania's lawyer claimed legal procedures were not being followed by
00:28the DRI while they were arresting her and during the investigation as well.
00:32Rania's legal team is preparing to approach the Sessions Court for a relief.
00:36Until a verdict is delivered on her bail application, she will remain in judicial custody.
00:40The Enforcement Directorate has now initiated raids in Karnataka.
00:44They are suspecting an international gold smuggling network.
00:47The CBI also is scrutinizing footage from Rania's recent wedding to uncover potential
00:52connections to smuggling operation.
