00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday led the inauguration of the Soro-Sora-Ibaba Development Cooperative,
00:06or SIDC Grains Terminal and Trading Project in Batangas City.
00:10The 278 million pesos facility is designed to strengthen the agricultural sector
00:16by enhancing the storage, procurement and trading of corn, a key component in feed production.
00:21The chief executive noted that with greater production,
00:24the cost of feeds for livestock and poultry farmers will decrease,
00:28reducing farmers' capital expenses while boosting their income.
00:32The facility is also expected to address long-standing storage issues for farmers,
00:37as it is equipped with large capacity silos and truck scales to streamline operations.
00:43Currently around 567 hog racers, poultry farmers and yellow corn producers stand to benefit from the project,
00:50marking a significant step in the administration's efforts to support the country's agricultural industry.
00:57Through this, the imbalance of our corn will be better.
01:03Our support for the industry of poultry and livestock will be stronger.
01:09And above all, our farmers and our businessmen will have a stable income,
01:17not just here in Batangas, but in the whole of Calabasan.
01:21This feed mill facility has two silos with a total capacity of 12,000 metric tons of corn,
01:33equivalent to 480,000 sacks of food for more than 1,000 pigs or almost 600,000 chickens.
