00:00We have an update on the situation now in The Hague, in the Netherlands, where former President Rodrigo Duterte was brought in.
00:07We will be joined by GMA Integrated News Stringer, Andy Peña-Fuerte III.
00:13Andy, it's a cold morning there for you.
00:17Good afternoon to you in the Philippines, Connie.
00:21Right now, it's 4 o'clock in the early morning here in The Hague.
00:24Exactly at 8 o'clock last night, the police released the Filipinos who gathered in front of the gate of the Hague Penitentiary Institution.
00:34Before that, about 200 of our fellow Filipinos gathered there, and most of them are supporters of former President Duterte.
00:43The profiles of the Filipinos who went to the penitentiary are different, and many of them are based here in the Netherlands.
00:53Okay. Go ahead, Andy.
00:57We also have fellow Filipinos from other countries like Belgium and Germany.
01:04One of our fellow Filipinos is from Japan, but he said that he was just on vacation here in The Hague and he visited a friend.
01:12He said that he was on vacation because of the arrival of former President Duterte here.
01:17But as we saw, the gathering of our fellow Filipinos who were supporters of former President Duterte was peaceful, right?
01:27The gathering was peaceful because when we arrived in front of the ICC and also in front of the Hague Penitentiary,
01:37even the Filipinos there told our fellow Filipinos to behave and not to shout,
01:46and if possible, to be gentle in expressing their support for former President Duterte.
01:55How is the security outside the penitentiary? Are people being asked to leave or are there people leaving and returning? Are there plans to return?
02:05At 8 p.m. last night, all the people left. As of now, there are no Filipinos there.
02:15In terms of security, if we compare the height of the wall in front of the gate, the height of the wall is almost two floors.
02:27The Hague Penitentiary area is close to the residential area. So I can say that the security there is tight.
02:38Okay. But earlier, we also heard that there were people who did not necessarily support former President Duterte.
02:46They were critics. Can you give us more details about that?
02:52That's right. We have a few of them who are neutral. We tried to find a critic and one of the people we talked to is a 26-year-old Dutchman
03:08who has a placard that says, catch them all. According to this Dutch national,
03:17he considered former President Rodrigo Duterte a war criminal. That's why he was so eager to arrest the former president.
03:25Despite the fact that he was carrying a placard, he was not arrested and he was well-talked to by the supporters of the former president.
03:34Okay. As confirmed by the OVPO, Office of the Vice President, VP Sara Duterte has arrived in the Hague.
03:42Do you have any information on whether he will be allowed to enter the penitentiary to see and talk to his father?
03:48We received the news that VP Sara Duterte arrived last night because it was first reported by the local media.
03:58But for now, we are still trying to find out the details on whether he will be allowed to enter the penitentiary.
04:05But if we base it on what happened last night, only two black SUVs were able to enter the gate of the penitentiary.
04:14It didn't take more than 30 seconds. So if we base it on that, the entry will be faster.
04:22All right. Thank you very much for your update on us.
04:25Thank you very much as well.
04:27That was Jemmy Integrated News Stringer, Andy Peña Fuerte III.
