First look inside Valencia tapas restaurant as opening of new venue in Crosspool, Sheffield, nears

00:00Sheffield's newest tapas restaurant is opening in what was formerly a curry house.

00:05Valencia is opening on the corner of Benty Lane and Sandigate Road in Crosspool,

00:10in what was once the Varanasi Inn restaurant.

00:13The owners hope to be open by March 19th, depending on whether work on the kitchen is completed by then.

00:19Em, could you tell me please about the restaurant that you're opening here in Crosspool?

00:23Yes, we are so excited about it.

00:26We're going to be opening a Mediterranean tapas restaurant and Mediterranean-style cafeteria as well in the morning.

00:32Hopefully later on we will be opening a cocktail bar upstairs.

00:35What sort of food are people going to be able to get here?

00:38People will be getting Mediterranean and tapas.

00:42And the breakfast cafeteria is a breakfast.

00:45We will have got a lot of fresh breakfast styles, Mediterranean and the traditional as well.

00:50Breakfast will be available.

00:52And the restaurant, there is a lot of fresh food.

00:56We have got mezes, tapas, main courses.

01:02There's like a banquets available, tapas banquets available as well.

01:08Spanish and Mediterranean is mainly.

01:11How long have you been working to get this ready?

01:14Oh, seven months.

01:16It was extremely hard work to turn in this place as you see it like that.

01:21It was really out of date and we had to put a lot of hard work on it.

01:25Are you pleased about how it's looking now?

01:27I love it. I love it. I would not change anything.

01:30What has to be done now before you can open?

01:33We need to test the kitchen, make sure the kitchen is ready.

01:37And then make sure we have got trained our member of staff.

01:41We have got new members and make sure everybody is trained and ready.

01:45And hopefully we will be going live soon.

01:49And I understand you are also hoping to have a cocktail bar as part of the scheme.

01:54What's the time scale for that likely to be?

01:56I can't tell you exactly how many months but I would say a few months.
