Black Lives Matter mural removed in Washington  Construction crews in Washington D.C. begin removing the Black Lives Matter plaza mural, which was painted in front of the White House during the George Floyd protests. The pedestrian zone covering two blocks was named "Black Lives Matter" Plaza to honor the resistance movement. 00:00I'm here to mourn the destruction of one of our brightest symbols of the black resistance

00:30not only in this city but in this country. People from all around the world came to see this

00:35and to see it destroyed because of capitulating to Donald Trump is beyond insulting.

00:59If your eyes are open your ears are open your mind is open you know that this is just the beginning

01:12and I tell you what my mother died in 2017. I miss her dearly but I am so glad that she's not

01:19around to see this because you know she did the original march on Washington. I did several since

01:26that time you know and you know where's the pride in being a U.S. citizen anymore.

01:49This mural in this in this location it it it was one way of letting us know that our

01:55contributions matters that that our black lives will always matter. We just happened

02:01we just happen to be at a point where there's been a setback but as I said before

02:07this setback is definitely setting the stage for a remarkable comeback.
