00:44with that's a total ceasefire Ukraine is agreed to it and hopefully Russia will
00:49agree to it we're going to meet with them later on today and tomorrow and
00:54hopefully we'll be able to wipe out a deal but I think the ceasefire is very
00:58important if we can get Russia to do it that'll be great

01:51morning Shashank take us through what is expected given that the US has been in
01:57favor of talks and peace and you know President Donald Trump has been
02:02emphasizing just so much on it in the last few weeks or so
02:07absolutely so what's basically been agreed between the United States and
02:12Ukraine is that there will be a 30-day military ceasefire in the land sea and
02:17air when it comes to the conflict in Ukraine in return for Ukraine agreeing
02:23to the ceasefire there's going to be a resumption of US military aid as well as
02:27intelligence sharing support for the Ukrainian military now what happens is
02:32that the proposal will go to the Russians and if the Russians also agree
02:35to the ceasefire then the ceasefire will come into effect for a 30 day period
02:38after that it can also be extended for for the period of time and the hope is
02:44that once the Russians also accept the ceasefire if they go ahead and do that
02:47then you can sit down and have a much broader conversation on how to end the
02:52war security guarantees whether Ukraine gets out the territory back so it is a
02:57positive first step and it seems to show that despite the fact that there was
03:01this blowout meeting between Zelensky and Trump in the White House just a week
03:06or so ago that the US-Ukraine relationship seems to have recovered
03:10somewhat in fact Donald Trump even saying that he would definitely invite
03:13Zelensky back to the White House sometime in the future despite their
03:17difficult meeting so and you're also seeing the European nation who had
03:23initially proposed this idea of a 30-day ceasefire between the between the
03:27Ukrainians and the Russians we have also welcomed this development so in
03:32many ways a positive step for ending the Ukraine war all right thanking you
