Infamous wife-killer Scott Peterson got an ass-whoopin' from another inmate in a California state prison -- in an altercation over pickleball ... TMZ has learned.

00:00Scott Peterson, so remember he's convicted of killing his wife Lacey and

00:05their unborn child so many years ago. Well, he's behind bars still. He was

00:10playing a pickleball game. Go figure. And apparently got so aggressive. No, no, no,

00:16no, no, no. He wasn't aggressive. What he did was he hit the ball in the yard

00:21there and it flew off in the in the wrong direction and hit another inmate.

00:27Hit another inmate, yeah. So then, so then that inmate goes up to him and he got

00:32beaten up pretty bad. Yeah, got beaten up pretty bad. Didn't go to the hospital, but

00:37you know, they got me at pickleball. I mean. This is your thing. It's shocking to learn that they even have

00:45pickleball at prison. Right. I mean this is the, this is the prison that's near

00:49Sacramento where he's from. But here's the thing, usually when somebody is

00:54serving a sentence that has to do with, you know, some kind of murder towards a

00:59child, towards a woman, which, you know, he's got both strikes there. Usually

01:03those people have a hard time in prison and become targets. Look, was this

01:08related to that? Unclear. But we know that the person that he hit with the

01:12with the pickleball was totally set off. So this could just be something that was

01:17maybe bubbling and boiling behind bars. And then just when this other person had

01:22the chance to go after Scott, maybe he took his opportunity then.
