00:24aren't exactly the brightest people in the subreddit, with more bravado than brains

00:28as they try to hunt down their whale, an image that the movie keeps coming back to.

00:33They don't know what they're doing and they just rely on vibes and impulses,

00:37especially Cavallaro's gym owner who thinks all this breaking and entering is really

00:41messing up his karmic vibes, man. The performances in Cold Wallet are solid,

00:46but aside from the crypto theme, you'll have definitely seen this kind of home invasion

00:50crime thriller before. It starts to sag in the middle section as Breener tries to manipulate

00:54all of them to try and get them to turn against each other, but the characterisation

00:58isn't sharp enough for that. It feels like it's just a draft or so away from turning what is a

01:03watchable but familiar thriller into something more memorable, and maybe it should have leaned

01:07heavier into its satire or the psychological head games. But Cold Wallet is well directed

01:12by Cutter Hoddian, and the final 30 minutes especially are pretty tense, as the stakes

01:17rise sharply and their Robin Hood ambitions inevitably take a violent turn. It's missing

01:23that something that would make it truly great, but keep an eye on these filmmakers, their stock

01:28might rise.
