00:00For those who did not finish college but have a job, you can now use your work experience to get a college degree.
00:08With the help of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program or ETIAP-AC.
00:15How? Let's find out in the first news of Darling Kyle.
00:20First year in her business management course, Angeline was the first to have a child.
00:24She was not able to go back to school because her family was pushing her and she was forced to work.
00:30Even though she had 10 years in sales and 5 years as a barangay health worker and now a secretary,
00:36she might have more opportunities if she had a college degree.
00:40It has a huge effect.
00:42If you really want to apply for a job, you cannot achieve it because you are always looking for a college degree.
00:52You need at least 2 to 3 years before you can apply.
00:56Of course, I did not.
00:58Now, it is more possible with the new Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program or ETIAP-AC.
01:05In ETIAP-AC, there will be a mechanism to get to know the previous studies,
01:09as well as the knowledge and experience gained from work or other training,
01:12and consider it as an alternative to college classes to get an equal bachelor's or college degree.
01:18It can be obtained as long as you are Filipino, 23 years of age and have a high school diploma,
01:24and 5 years or more in a job related to wanting to get a college degree.
01:29If you enter, just apply to one of the more than 100 ETIAP-authorized schools listed in the CHED Regional Offices.
01:35They will assess if your experience is sufficient.
01:48If you go out to the campus, you will be able to get an ETIAP-certificate.
01:52The certificates of their work experience, etc.
01:56If you go out and need to take additional units or subjects for a degree,
02:01you can take online night or weekend classes.
02:04In fact, ETIAP is no longer new because there was an executive order issued here back in 1996.
02:10But now, there is a law that says it will be expanded and will give more funds to the government
02:16so that it can benefit more people.
02:18Because of this, the Commission on Higher Education or CHED was given power.
02:24As a lead agency, the standards, monitoring, and implementation of the ETIAP program across the country will be stricter.
02:34Colleges and universities are now targeting ETIAP.
02:38When the executive order was issued, there were more than 41,000 ETIAP graduates from 1999 to October 2024.
02:45Now, Angeline is excited to be added to that number.
02:49I like it more when you have a picture, of course, that you graduated.
02:54Of course, it's different when you're done.
02:57This is the first news.
