Liam Kennedy picks his NUFC XI

In the latest episode of the Geordie Journos, Liam Kennedy works out how he'd replace Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall in the Newcastle United XI, with the Carabao Cup final in mind.

00:10as the back four. The two centre-halves, even though they literally look like they're not

00:14playing together at the moment. Despite being brilliant previously.

00:19Just hesitant, half asleep, like it's embarrassing watching the two of them at the moment from where

00:25they were earlier this season, but they pick themselves because there's nobody else. Yes.

00:29Then the midfield for me to pick itself because they are, they are, deserve to be in there,

00:33they are quality. The rest is up for debate. Murphy starts on the right, Isak starts in the middle

00:39and I go Joe Linton on the left. Okay.

00:41And this might be controversial because I've been a critic of him on here, but I play Joe Willock

00:46and I play Joe Willock because of the way I probably try to set the team up in the game.

00:52We've seen Eddie Howe, this is using Eddie Howe's model, we've seen Eddie Howe set the team up where

00:56he does that thing where they become a five out of possession and Joe Linton does the cover

01:02on the left-hand side. Now I think Tino Liverman was going to need help on that left-hand side,

01:07so I would probably do that. And I think rather than Miley, he did it a bit, it was a bit of that

01:11Liverpool wasn't there, that's why Willock played because he can tuck on the, he can tuck as a wide,

01:16more of a wide midfielder, then Miley wouldn't be really suited out there at all, I would say.

01:22So that's probably the team that I pick, even though personally, as a midfielder in general,

01:27I think Miley is my choice, always ahead of Joe Willock. For this particular game and the way

01:31that I would probably try and set the team up, and I suspect he might, I think he plays Joe Willock.
