00:00World No. 4 pole vaulter EJ Obiena will no longer be competing in the upcoming World Indoor Championships to be held in Nanjing, China.

00:09The 29-year-old athlete confirmed through his social media account that his absence is due to insufficient qualifying points,

00:17along with the conclusion of various tournaments within the qualifying period.

00:21Obiena recently suffered an injury and still in the recovery stage.

00:26This year, the multi-titled athlete made a strong return to international competition,

00:31securing gold medals at the meeting Metz-Mossel Athletic in the Orland Copernicus Cup.

00:37Meanwhile, Obiena is still set to compete in the Mondo Classic in Sweden this March 13.
