00:00In Thailand, people tell a story about why storms happen.

00:03It's about Mekala, the goddess of lightning, and Ramasun, the god of thunder.

00:08Mekala has a magical crystal that shines like a star.

00:11It's so bright that it lights up the sky.

00:14Ramasun wants the crystal, so he chases Mekala.

00:17He throws his axe to try and catch her.

00:19But Mekala is too fast.

00:20She moves away and flashes her crystal, blinding him.

00:24The bright flash of her crystal becomes lightning.

00:26The loud crash of his axe is thunder.

00:29As they chase each other in the sky, rain falls to the earth.

00:33This old story reminds us that every storm will end and the light will always return.
