FIR tells the gripping story of Irfan Ahmed, a brilliant IIT graduate and chemical engineer, whose peaceful life spirals into chaos after a terrorist attack alters public perception of his identity. Irfan, portrayed by Vishnu Vishal, is a soft-spoken man facing silent discrimination due to his religion. Though highly qualified, his name alone subjects him to suspicion in job interviews and society.

When a deadly bomb blast occurs, Irfan's name surfaces after his misplaced phone is found at the site. The media and law enforcement quickly brand him a terrorist. Despite his innocence, Irfan is arrested, tortured, and his image plastered across national television as the face of terror.

Meanwhile, deep within government corridors, Ajay Dewan, a high-ranking national security official, tracks an elusive international terrorist named Abu Bakkar Abdullah. As the NIA intensifies their search, layers of conspiracy begin to unfold. Irfan’s lawyer and childhood friend Prarthana fights to clear his name legally, but public perception turns violent.

Amid tragedy and false accusations, Irfan seemingly disappears—only to re-emerge as a covert agent in a dangerous undercover mission. A major twist reveals that Irfan is actually Faizal Ibrahim Raiz (FIR), a deep-cover NIA operative assigned to eliminate terrorist threats from within. His supposed fall from grace was a deliberate act to infiltrate the terror network.

The narrative intensifies as Irfan infiltrates the core of the extremist group led by Riyaz and Abu Bakkar. Using his knowledge of chemical engineering, he appears to aid them in their plan to release deadly sarin gas—but it’s all part of the NIA’s larger mission. The climax unfolds in a dramatic factory raid where Irfan destroys the weapons and confronts Abu Bakkar in hand-to-hand combat.

Supported by another covert agent—Archana, previously assumed to be his civilian girlfriend—Irfan neutralizes the terrorist cell and disappears from public view. The media is told he died in service, but the final moments reveal he’s alive, his identity changed again, ready for his next mission.
