00:17President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. wanted the Department of Water Resources or DWR Bill to be better.
00:26In a sectoral meeting in Malacanang, the executive board helped the concerned government agencies to discuss the so-called plan.
00:34Here, he ordered the government agencies to simplify the DWR Bill to create a clear and effective system
00:42that will eliminate unnecessary processes, strengthen regulations, and ensure a clean and reliable water supply.
00:50In the last meeting, NEDA also convened the Chief Executive to certify the bill as urgent.
00:56This is to address the long-term challenge of the country to govern the water and productivity in agriculture.
01:04NEDA is determined that by integrating the government and regulating water in the country,
01:09the DWR will help the country to strive for comprehensive water security.
01:16It is time for the DWR to be formed under its mandate to unify, strengthen, and enforce the government's regulation and distribution of water in the country.
01:27It also aims to address the long-term challenge of the lack of clean water,
01:31water access, and sustainable support in agriculture and industry for the country's prosperity.
01:39Aside from water, the President also wants to improve the expected internet connectivity, particularly in Metro Manila.
01:46Under the leadership of the MMDA, the President discussed the Metro Manila Smart City Infrastructure for Network Resilience Project,
01:54a program that will make the fiber optic network centralized and will directly connect 17 LGUs in Metropolis, MMDA, and DICT.
02:04The President is determined that through this project,
02:07there will be better traffic management, faster response to accidents,
02:13as well as real-time flood level monitoring,
02:15faster coordination with LGUs, and prompt assistance in times of emergency.
