A photographer who built an adorable mouse village with over 150k social media followers has added - a pub, a book shop and Hobbit homes. Simon Dell, 50, began making the 'mini shire' when he spotted a wild mouse in his back garden. Since then, he has attracted more mice to the luxury mouse town - which he has constructed from recycled wood, materials and repurposed trash.

00:00It started around about 2018 and I was just taking photos of wildlife in Gordham which

00:14is a bit of a passion.

00:16Just cut grass and I saw one little mouse come out and it reared up like a macaque.

00:20I took a couple of photos of it as a wildlife photographer and I posted it online and everybody

00:26loved it.

00:27It went pretty much viral from this one photo.

00:30People demanded to see more so from that day, I started putting in a little peanut ink

00:34tree just at the back of my ear.

00:37There were no villagers at the time, just one peanut and the mouse started to come out

00:41again so I thought I'd better build it a little shelter.

00:42I'm seeing my birds, I'm kind of baiting them to come out, give them a bit of safety.

00:47I built them a little log pile and it just grew from there.

00:51As more mice came, it started with one, then two, then three, until we had a family.

00:57Anything you can imagine, just whatever fits into your imagination, you've got train stations,

01:03pubs, shops, cafes, you've got a bookstore.

01:08All the houses, I mean some of the houses in the lower part are modelled on Hobbit Village

01:12so kind of like that, which is really fitting in.

01:16We've got a Wallace and Gromit room over here with the wrong trousers.

01:20Everything's all made by hand from recycled materials.

01:23Yes, you make all the wood yourself.

01:25All bits of wood, all I can find.

01:28Sometimes I go digging about in trash and skips if I see something I like.
