00:19Me Softly with his song that topped the charts in the 1970s.
00:23The late singer revealed in November 2022 that she had been diagnosed with amyotrophic
00:28lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's disease.
00:31The illness left Flack unable to sing.
00:33The singer won four Grammy Awards and received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
00:38She made history as the first artist to win two consecutive Record of the Year honors
00:42for her hits.
00:43They were for The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face in 1973 and Killing Me Softly with his
