00:00At Budapest Zoo these elephants are getting their routine checkup just like
00:05humans do. Every week veterinarians here take blood tests to help detect a deadly
00:12disease that threatens mainly Asian elephants. It's all about prevention but
00:18the zoo doesn't just help its own animals. Last year alone they rescued
00:22over 2,600 wild animals in need. Most of these animals come injured or sick and
00:29their job is to get them healthy and back home. Like an eagle owl that was
00:35found near a road with an injured wing, the owl is being treated and will
00:40eventually be placed in a wildlife center since it can't survive being in
00:46the wild. It's too injured they say and they cannot release it. So from elephants
00:53to hedgehogs, bats and wild birds the Budapest Zoo Wildlife Rescue Center is
01:00treating and saving animals by the thousands.
