00:19The court acquitted the 47-year-old of the charge where he and three other Federation

00:24officials allegedly coerced Spanish football star Jenny Hermoso into saying the kiss was

00:30consensual.

00:31Both Rubiales and Hermoso said they will appeal the court decision.

00:36Prosecutors had sought a prison sentence for Rubiales in a case that sparked a debate in

00:41Spain about sexism in women's football and wider Spanish society.

01:42During the trial, the 34-year-old Hermoso said the kiss by Rubiales was not consensual

01:50and tainted one of happiest days of her life when her Spanish national team won the FIFA

01:55Women's World Cup.

01:57However, Rubiales maintained that Hermoso had consented to the kiss amid the celebrations

02:03during the trophy presentation ceremony in Sydney in August 2023.
