00:00Knowing that it's going to be coming out to the world and people are going to hear my vocals on it,

00:04I re-record that stuff to death. I'm just like, no, it's not, it's not. I just do it again and again.

00:15Songwriting is such a personal thing. I mean, obviously you can write the fun stuff,

00:20but somehow or other, like your life is going to bleed into those songs, right?

00:23Yeah.

00:24Do you still feel self-conscious about putting

00:28certain words on paper or like telling like certain parts of a story?

00:32Oh, I have had that before where I've, in a demo, I've written something and then thought,

00:38okay, I probably have to change this for the release. So I, yeah, definitely sometimes feel

00:45subconscious about that kind of stuff. But at times I'm kind of like, oh, well, this is what it,

00:50it's what it is. So yeah, I feel like I've balanced both out. Yeah, a little bit.

00:56Obviously you've had kind of like a looking glass into the industry before you dropped your own

01:01debut album. Has that helped? Or do you think you would have been better off not knowing anything

01:06going in blind?

01:07Um, well, I guess I have, like even songwriting, collaborating with different artists, you get to

01:12kind of learn more about the industry, but I think it's a completely different thing doing it on the

01:17other side. Like back then, I would have never been able to imagine what they have been doing

01:22and the emotions they would have been going through. So it's very interesting to be on the

01:26other side of it.

01:28Is there something that you thought was going to be easier than it turned out to be or vice

01:33versa, the other way around?

01:34Absolutely. I've never really had an issue with demo recordings. I've never kind of re-recorded

01:40it that many times, but knowing that it's going to be coming out to the world and people are

01:44going to hear my vocals on it, I re-record that stuff to death. I'm just like, no, it's not,

01:50it's not. I just do it again and again and again.

01:53It has to be perfect.

01:54Yeah, yeah. My first performance after I debuted as a singer, terrified, absolutely mortified,

02:01shaking and everything. Voice wasn't there, but I feel like I'm getting used to it and I still

02:06get the jitters, but I love it so much. I love that adrenaline.

02:11Do you have like a pre-show routine to like hype yourself up?

02:14So many. Definitely warming up. I guzzle down coconut water like you wouldn't believe. I love

02:20it so much. And it's so hydrating for the throat. Also, vocal rest, if possible. Try not to talk

02:27or sing.

02:29Okay, that's something that I probably should have addressed when we first started the podcast.

02:34I lost my voice last week. And it's still not back yet. Anyone who listens to the podcast will

02:39know that I don't usually sound like this low.
