00:00I'm absolutely delighted that, due to funding from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport,

00:07Peterborough Museum has been awarded a grant of £137,000 to install a new electronic lift

00:15after having a mechanical lift for so many years.

00:20I think it was 1996 when it was installed, or certainly was brought into the city.

00:27And we now have the funding that should, in fact, it should be installed in September 2026.

00:37So still a way off, but at least we know the money's coming and it's for the betterment of the museum.

00:45This new funding is a huge vote of confidence, both in the museum and in the city.

00:49We know the museum is at the heart of our arts and culture, something we're seeking to build upon.

00:54And even though we've had some funding bumps down the line, this new funding from the government shows that we're back on the map.

01:00And working together, the council, the Friends Group, the museum, the team itself,

01:05I'm really hopeful we can win more funds in the months ahead and really build on the success of the museum.
