00:00Welcome to the very first episode of Clash of Champions. I am Devodina Chakraborty. And
00:10today we're going to talk about India's Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh. But what
00:15we're really going to talk about is what should India expect from the Dubai pitch?
00:21After all the drama that unfolded, India are going to play out all their Champions Trophy
00:25matches in Dubai. Now the question remains, what kind of pitch could India expect in Dubai?
00:30Mathew Sendry, the Chief Curator of the Dubai Stadium, gave a statement that they have worked
00:35tirelessly to build a track that is very much suitable for ODI requirements. Now keep in
00:41mind this is the same venue which had ILT 20 matches being played on it 11 days prior
00:46to the start of Champions Trophy. When it comes to ODIs, Dubai has not hosted a full
00:51member team match since 2019. During the ILT 20, fast bowlers averaged 25.06 at an
00:59economy of 8.08, while spinners managed 29.16 average and 7.46 economy, which tells you
01:06it's a pretty fair ground for both kind of bowlers. Now this is good news for India in
01:12both ways. India have even raised eyebrows from the likes of our Ashwin by carrying five
01:16spinners along with them to Dubai, who come in Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington
01:22Sundar, Varun Chakravorty and Akshar Patel. But will that be actually necessary?
