00:00When I was a little kid, I used to just want to be like a funnier version of Steve Irwin.
00:08I don't know any people that say that he's their biggest inspiration that actually rehabilitate
00:12wildlife. That's Ben Christie. He's become a social media sensation. This urban rescue
00:18ranch. I just made a little 15 second video and a million people saw that. It's a soul-crushing
00:23experience to be in a cubicle. I'd be taking sales calls from home bottle feeding these animals.
00:30I realized, you know, it doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to keep animals alive.
00:36I had two different inspectors tell me not to touch the property with a 90-foot pole. Like,
00:40oh, that house isn't even worth trying to fix up. Man, is that rough. There's not a single
00:44species on earth that we could not tame or take care of. I'm thinking, man, is this all a big
00:50waste, you know? Hard work is a lot better when you're doing it for yourself on your own time
00:54than when you're doing it for somebody else on their time. 90% of the animals will come in,
00:59get by cars. A lot of our wildlife gets needlessly killed. Without us here, the majority of these
01:07animals would be euthanized. If you really care about the animals, you want to care about all
01:12the animals in the future as well. It's going to be, it's going to be perfect.
