00:00Hi, my name is Paula. Next year I'm cycling from Cape Town to Norway. I'll be covering
00:10a distance of 19,800 kilometres. The challenge I set up was to serve as an inspiration for
00:24others, see how far I could push myself mentally and physically, showing people that it doesn't
00:32matter when you start in life, it's always possible to start new dreams and never give
00:40up. I started cycling in order to train for the challenge that I'd set myself. I bought
00:49the bike when I decided I wanted to do the challenge. The toughest part of the training
00:54has been the monotony of it all. In Dubai, you can only cycle on cycle tracks, which
01:04is great. I love that there's no traffic and you can just get on with your training. But
01:10I did, for example, 100km daily for 30 days during the Dubai Fitness Challenge. I was
01:17just doing El Kudro, and it's the same stretch of road every single time, so there's a little
01:22bit of monotony. Other challenges I faced was going uphill. Dubai's a little bit flat,
01:28so you have to get out to Jebel Jais or Hatta. That's always a challenge. I anticipate every
01:35day is going to be bringing a challenge, but it's a challenge I'm looking forward to, and
01:41just embracing the whole thing positively, regardless of what comes your way. You've
01:47got to take each challenge as it comes.
