00:00PCOS, which stands for polycystic ovarian syndrome.

00:09It's a very common condition that might cause irregular menstruation, acne, excessive hair

00:15in the face and hair fall from the head.

00:20There is multiple treatments that we can prescribe for polycystic ovarian syndrome, non-hormonal

00:27treatments and hormonal treatments.

00:29For non-hormonal treatments, we can go for a change in lifestyle, like eating healthy,

00:34exercising regularly, sleep well and try to lower stress levels.

00:39Again, for non-hormonal treatments, we can give a medication called metformin.

00:46It is well-researched to help lower insulin resistance condition that comes with PCOS

00:52and make a patient, even when trying to lose weight, not to.

00:58For hormonal treatments, we prescribe oral contraceptive pills that regulate hormones

01:05and lower androgen levels.

01:08Again, for hormonal treatments, we can prescribe anti-androgen medication like spironolactone
