Matiullah Khan dreamt of being a cricketer since his childhood and made use of every opportunity that came his way as a youngster. But things didn’t go according to the plan in Matiullah’s later life. Chasing his cricketing dream became increasingly difficult, given the financial difficulties his family faced back home in Bannu, a city near Pakistan’s border of Afghanistan.

00:02I came to Dubai in 2011 for a job.
00:05And in 2012, I joined Bilal General Transport.
00:09I was working as a driver in Bilal General Transport.
00:12It was a very tough and hard duty for me.
00:15It was very tough.
00:16And my dream was to play international cricket.
00:19Because I love cricket very much.
00:23So, I struggled a lot for cricket and for a job.
00:27And I worked very hard. I never gave up.
00:29And I believed that I would play international cricket.
00:32So, because of that belief, I played international cricket for the IUE.
00:36And I also played a lot of franchise cricket.
