00:00Hello and welcome, my name is Shruti Sarkar and you are watching OneIndia and we are here
00:17today at INVEST Karnataka 2025 Summit.
00:20This is a global summit, there are so many delegates from all over the globe who is here.
00:25I just spoke to the Australian consulate and now we'll go around and see who we can talk
00:29to.
00:30Let's see what kind of insight we get about investments coming to Karnataka and to be
00:36specific, maybe in Bangalore.
00:37I'm with His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Maliki, Ambassador of Morocco in India.
00:56Hello Sir.
00:57Hello.
00:58My first question to you is, is this your first time in Karnataka?
01:01No, no.
01:02I've been here at least 8 or 9 times and this is the third summit I'm visiting in Karnataka.
01:09You can see the evolution, positive evolution of the whole state, especially Bangalore.
01:15It's become a very large cosmopolitan city, which I honestly love because of the weather
01:22and the people.
01:23Absolutely, absolutely.
01:25We would like to know a little bit more about the investment plan that you are thinking
01:30about in Karnataka.
01:32To be specific, Morocco has the largest public investment in all of Asia and that is concentrated
01:41in loads, loads of fertilizers.
01:44Because food security is part of the innovation.
01:48We also, some of the people, we have some, to say, dependent companies.
01:55And my relationship with Karnataka is definitely one of win-win because we have tied up with
02:04important companies for the...
02:11Customized to Morocco, it's like the...
02:15They are back up in...
02:17And then I believe we will be soon sending some dedication from here to see the opportunities
02:24because what Karnataka is witnessing is also what we are witnessing in many other cities
02:31in Morocco.
02:32In fact, we are thinking of making the Bangalore and Karnataka as twin states with some region
02:40of Morocco.
02:41Oh, great news for us.
02:57What kind of investments do you think will be right for Karnataka right now?
03:02I know there are a lot of investments coming in terms of green energy, in terms of AI,
03:07but for the right reasons, what kind of investments do you think will be right?
03:10We're seeing two big patterns at the moment.
03:12One, Australia and India have a free trade agreement, so that means that the volume of
03:17trade between Australia and India, including for Karnataka, is increasing.
03:21The products from India can access Australia without any tariffs, so it's creating real
03:25opportunities.
03:26We're also seeing Australian products, for example, shelves of paper.
03:30And then at the very consequential future point we stand now to say Australia has a
03:34great range of critical minerals, very much essential for India's EV emissions and development
03:39that can take hold.
03:40So across the spectrum, Australia's present.
