Big Bad Wolf Book Sale in Dubai: What’s attracting crowds?

One of the world’s largest book exhibitions is here in Dubai with discounts of 75 per cent on titles of various genres.  The Big Bad Wolf - founded in Malaysia in 2009 – is hosting over 1 million books of different genres in Dubai’s Studio City until April 16. 00:00Hello, everyone. I'm here at the largest book exhibition. It's the Big Bad Wolf. That's right.

00:07There are over a million books on display. Several thousands of authors have displayed their books

00:14here. Hundreds and hundreds of book lovers are making their way to the exhibition to pick up

00:21their best author, best book, something that they've been waiting for a long time.

00:26Big Bad Wolf was set up to provide accessible, affordable books to all. So in other words,

00:35what we want to do is bring in books that traditionally people may not pick up because

00:40they're way too expensive. And we want to make these books accessible for everybody at a price

00:45that doesn't hurt their wallet. And that's the reason why we have over 30,000 people coming in

00:50over here, or 40,000 hopefully this year. So it's because people see the value. They come in here,

00:56they want the books, and they look at it, they look at the prices, and they're like

01:00pleasantly surprised because, wow, it's not as expensive as I thought it would be.

01:04This is our second time at Big Bad Wolf Fair. The first time we came here, he was four years old,

01:10and we got lots of books in here with all the sounds and buttons and everything. We still have

01:15them. And now this time he came looking for which books? Comic books and Dog Man.

01:24Yeah, and I myself am looking for interior design and fashion books. And we're really, really lucky

01:30to have such a huge fair in Dubai every year. Definitely. I'm from New York, so this book

01:35right here is probably five times the price in a Barnes & Noble in New York, for sure. So this is

01:41when I look at the price list, I'm like, look how many books I bought. I got like 10 books because

01:46the prices are actually pretty good for a brand new book. Can't beat it. So our response at this

01:52Big Bad Wolf has been really amazing because our themes are very relevant to the books that are

02:00being sold over here. So it makes practical learning much easier. When you combine a book

02:07with our learning boxes, it gives you a more wholesome experience. Dubai is one of our biggest

02:13markets. Last year we had over 30,000 people coming in. And this year, obviously we expect

02:21it to be a lot more. Now, why do I think that people will be coming here? Mainly because the

02:27prices that we give our books at is super cheap. So we've got books running at 75% and over discounts.

02:35We've got over a million titles coming in. And every day we're changing books.

02:39So we've got new books coming in every day. So if you like reading, this is it. This is the place to be.
