UAE volunteers provide relief and support to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria

00:00Hello everyone, I'm here at the Bridges of Giving, a community volunteering initiative

00:05where UAE volunteers have come together to pack thousands of relief kits

00:10for those affected in the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

00:20So today the initiative is called the Bridges of Giving, it's a partnership between the UAE

00:25Red Crescent and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative.

00:28The main goal today is to make sure that we package aid boxes for people who have

00:33suffered from the earthquakes in Turkey and in Syria. We have over 2,000 volunteers with us

00:38today from different sectors and different nationalities in the country. They're going

00:41to be supporting us in packaging those aid boxes. We're here until 6 p.m in the World Trade Center

00:48in Dubai. As you can see behind me, the volunteers are packing the boxes, readying them in order to

00:55fill up the relief kits. And what is going inside the box? We have food supplies, medication,

01:03clothing, winter supplies, toys for the kids. We are here packing not only clothes, food,

01:11as well love and messages from the children. As you see in the front, they are sending messages

01:18to all the children in Syria and Turkey. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan

01:26asked the UAE to come and help the Syrian and Turkish people who are affected from the huge

01:33earthquake that happened there. As you know, the UAE is always giving the hand of support to other

01:38countries. We are here, you see all the volunteers coming today, packing all these boxes of food

01:44to be sent to Syria and to Turkey. This initiative today is organized by the UAE Red

01:50Crescent, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Social Development. The Mohammed bin Rashid

01:56Global Initiative is here today to organize all these efforts. So we are very happy to be here and

02:01we would like to support as much as we can the affected people of the earthquake in Syria and

02:05Turkey. This is our humanist message to say we are with you, we love you, and we are hand in hand

02:13with you guys. And to all the volunteers in here volunteering, I want to tell them thank you,

02:19well done, and God bless your efforts.
