Daniil Medvedev is on a roll. He came to Dubai fresh from two tournament wins, including the Qatar Open last week. The confidence was apparent in his swagger as the Russian third seed despatched Italian qualifier Matteo Arnaldi 6-4, 6-2 in 91 minutes in the first round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship on Tuesday.

00:00I don't think so I mean maybe
00:03Because first of all you have to know then how they're done
00:06And I have no idea so I could possibly maybe ask Technofiber if the ball I want
00:11But well, then I should only go to two tournaments where Technofiber balls
00:16So I don't know actually how the decision is done
00:20and I don't want to be you know the only one who because if I'm the only one to complain then it's just my problem, but
00:27Again, I feel like I have a small right to complain because I'm not losing
00:30So it's not like I have lost came here and said the ball are bad. I just won Doha with these balls
00:36In Australia, I played not so bad with these balls. I just feel like
00:40Yeah, there are a few things even I felt today. So there was a game. What was it?
00:464-2 in the first set on his serve and 3-1 in the second so when the balls are almost at their
00:54lowest point and
00:56It felt like not me nor him neither me nor him could make a winner and in my opinion
01:01That's a little bit maybe even boring because it was just I was like hitting cross
01:06I felt like I took the time from him just hit it back in the middle
01:10I was like I cannot do anything with this ball
01:11I hit back in the middle
01:12He hits back I hit back and then whoever misses and the legs the legs are burning and you are like and then the new
01:18balls for like three games
01:20It's a hug in Russia. We call it
01:24Sky and in ground they are completely different
01:28So it take like two games to get used to them, but then they're dead again
01:31So it's a little bit strange in my opinion
01:34But again, if I'm the only one then that's only my problem
01:37But I just feel like that's not good for for the body and that's important
01:41It feels great because confidence is very important tennis
01:44We all know it and I think every tennis player has different approaches to confidence. Like for example, I have no idea
01:50For me, it's more important to have the confidence like kind of in the moment then for example
01:56Remembering that last year I played good there
01:58Maybe it works different for now because when he comes to Australia, it feels like no matter what happened before
02:03He's always in confidence there. So for me, it's important in the moment and right now I feel great even today
02:10I felt like I was far from my best tennis, but I managed to close it out kind of in two sets. It always helps
02:17And yeah, I'm just really happy to be on a streak right now
02:22Streaks always finished. I will try to extend my mind as long as I can feeling great
02:27And hopefully can do some big things here in Dubai
