00:00ARAB AND GULF TOURISTS WILL SOON HAVE TO PAY A NEW VISA FEE TO ENTER EGYPT, ACCORDING TO
00:07A DECISION PUBLISHED IN THE EGYPTIAN GOVERNMENT-GAZETTE.
00:10The UAE Embassy in Cairo has announced that as of March 21, tourists from Arab nations
00:14and GCC countries will be required to pay a visa fee of $25, which is equivalent to
00:2092 dirhams.
00:22The travel advisory from the UAE Embassy was made following the decision by Interior Minister
00:27Mahmoud Tawfiq regarding visa fees for citizens of Arab countries visiting Egypt, which was
00:32published in the Egyptian Government-Gazette.
00:35The decision exempted nations that had previously signed exemption agreements with Egypt, although
00:39it did not identify the countries.
00:41Earlier in June 2020, Egypt said it imposed an entry visa fee on Gulf states, namely Saudi
00:47Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.
00:50While the decision was not implemented at the time, it was eventually cancelled and
00:54postponed until now.
00:55A previous decision had also imposed entry visa fees on Qatari citizens, which has been
00:59effective since November 2017.
