00:00The Waterfront Market and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority have announced the winner of the third edition of their murals and art competition.
00:08This year's competition honored the frontline workers who have helped the UAE in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:16Judges were unanimous in their decision to award the winning prize of 15,000 dirhams to Christian Barba Olidana for his work Mute,
00:25a stylized mural of what we all experienced during lockdown, videoconferencing.
00:31For each frontliner has this mute icon, this symbolizes their focus and dedication to continue their duties while their lives were at risk without complaints and no conditions.
00:48This whole world has this open mic, this symbolizes comfort, freedom and peace of mind that we don't need to battle COVID-19 because we have our frontliners here.
01:01And with this advantage of this open mic, through my art I want to show to every frontliner that will visit Waterfront that they were represented on this art.
01:15And the whole world has a message to them that we are forever grateful for their heroic deeds.
