00:00Manchester United beat Brighton 3-0 last night to move back up to fifth in the Premier League.
00:07Look like they're going on a bit of a run having gone 15 games unbeaten both pre and post
00:12coronavirus break and all competitions. Now the problem I have is as much as they looked great
00:18last night possibly their best performance of the season Mason Greenwood looks like a great find.
00:23They've got Bruno Fernandes firing on all cylinders up front and Paul Pogba is finally
00:29looking as though he actually wants to turn in a performance worthy of the shirt for Manchester
00:34United. The big issue they've got is they still flatter to deceive. If they think that winning
00:403-0 at Brighton is enough to get them contending with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool
00:46they're going to be in for yet another shock and yet another disappointment next season.
00:49The only thing that they're going to do is come up short again, lose another manager and be back
00:54to square one. Like I said Bruno Fernandes looks good, Paul Pogba looks good but they need a lot
00:59more than that, a lot more. They're back for his put in another clean sheet that's 8 out of 13
01:06clean sheets now but David De Gea still looks really shaky at the back and had it not been for
01:12a number of refereeing decisions then they would have been in big trouble again last night. So
01:17despite the performance that they did put in they are still way way short and if they think
01:23that celebrating the way they did against Brighton to when they win 3-0 is worthy of breaking out
01:28the bunting then it just shows you how far that they have fallen. If they think this is
01:34this is an amazing result because Liverpool and Manchester City this is routine for them
01:38they just go out do their business and go boom who's next. Manchester United celebrating like
01:43they won the cup last night. So they're back up to fifth but European football still by
01:48Champions League football still by no means a guarantee given that they're level on points
01:53with Wolves. Two behind Chelsea here in fourth and we're still not sure if fifth will be good
01:59enough for Champions League football depending on the Man City appeal on their European ban.
02:04So by no means are they out of the woods this season. Promising signs last night but they'll
02:10need a lot more to come if they want to get that Champions League spot as Wolves will grab any
02:15opportunity they can and they'll need to really strengthen that squad if they want to do things
02:20next season. Thanks I'm Matt Smith for Golf News.
