00:00I stand here not only as a representative of the people, but as a disappointed Malaysian.
00:10Disappointed with what we have become. Disappointed with what we have allowed to happen to the dignity of the country.
00:19And also disappointed with our hypocrisy in the question of patriotism.
00:25We often talk about love towards Malaysia. But when we walk on the streets, what do we see?
00:34A path of joy that is rough, rugged, and left in ruins like this.
00:43A flag that should be proud and full of pride, should be ignored in humiliation.
00:53We see dirty, old, and rotten flags still being flung outside buildings, in schools, in government buildings.
01:02Even at the flag poles in front of government offices.
01:06But no one speaks up.
01:09We pass by without caring, as if it is a normal thing.
01:14But when we see a foreign flag being flung on our waters, we suddenly get angry.
01:21Suddenly, there are those who take action.
01:24Suddenly, everyone feels that their dignity is challenged.
01:29Where is the feeling of anger when our path of joy is ignored like this?
01:38Patriotism is not just about standing firm when the song of my country is played.
01:44It is not just about celebrating Independence Day or Malaysia Day once a year.
01:49It is not just about praising me, a Malaysian, on social media.
01:55It is about respect.
01:57And respect starts with how we maintain our path of joy.
02:02I say it is enough.
02:04It is enough with empty nationalism.
02:08It is enough with selective anger.
02:11It is enough with using our flag as a decoration.
02:17If we cannot respect our own flag, then what are we actually fighting for?
