00:14The first decade of Dubai Metro operation launched on September 9, 2009 has been marked by fabulous successes

00:23reflected by a massive number of more than 650,000 commuters currently using the service every day.

00:31In total, more than 1.5 billion riders have used the Metro over the last 10 years.

00:38So, congratulations to Dubai Metro.

00:42Royal Roads and Transport Authority launched the Metro journey at 9.99 p.m. on a Wednesday, the 9.9.2009.

00:53The red line of Metro spanning 52 kilometers and comprising of 29 stations, 4 underground, 24 elevated and 1 at grade.

01:04The red line runs between Jebel Ali and Rashidiyah.

01:09Exactly 2 years later on 9.9.2011, the green line was launched spanning 23 kilometers and comprising 18 stations, 6 underground and 12 elevated.

01:23The green line runs between Itisalat Station in Al-Ghuseis and Al-Jadab near Business Bay, Khorasan.
