00:00Anjali, you forget me, husband won't mind, right?
00:05No, he wouldn't.
00:08You forget me, this won't happen, I will forget you.
00:11I won't let this happen.
00:13Anjali!
00:18Hi, this is Manjusha Radhakrishnan from Gulf News Tabloid.
00:21And today we have with us Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty,
00:25who is in town for a two-day audition workshop.
00:28What is an audition workshop really?
00:30I think an opportunity given by the media house 2454,
00:35I think it's a fantastic opportunity.
00:37Because what happens is generally when you travel
00:40from a movie perspective, you get talent.
00:43But you don't get talent that is probably trained enough
00:47and ready to face the camera.
00:49The whole idea of FTC, Talent.com,
00:53is to make sure that you bring in talent from the local areas
00:57itself.
00:58When we're travelling, like we plan to do a film in Abu Dhabi
01:01and if everything works out for us,
01:03we want to make sure that we take talent from the country itself,
01:07from the city itself.
01:08That's amazing, it's a great initiative to have local talent pools working.
01:12Yeah, and at the same time, dreams of Bollywood.
01:16Bigger dreams.
01:18At least in the Middle East I've seen the love and affection
01:21that we get from local people here is also unbelievable.
01:25And somewhere down the line, a lot of the kids today,
01:27today's kids, whether it's local or Indians or Sri Lankans
01:31or any other, from any other country and nationality,
01:37want to be a part of Bollywood.
01:39I think this is one platform where we're giving you an opportunity.
01:43We're saying, come on the platform, get your talent out,
01:47put yourself out there and without going through the daily grind
01:51of auditions, you probably could get a job online.
01:55So the dream of course is to be the LinkedIn of entertainment
01:59and connect people from the entertainment world on one platform.
02:03So if we end up, like I said time and again,
02:07if I end up coming to shoot the film that we plan to do here,
02:11we're looking for more than 400 plus actors from the very area.
02:15Is it your own production?
02:17Yes, it is my own production and that's why it gives me
02:19the liberty to think differently,
02:21the liberty to be able to really work towards that.
02:25What was your first audition like? Do you remember it?
02:29Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolute disaster.
02:31Absolute disaster. No, I'm not kidding. I hit that.
02:34You know, the minute I realized...
02:36They're with me. They're with me.
02:38It's a disaster. Nobody will get work.
02:41You know, the thing is, I was a martial artist.
02:43What was the scene? Come on.
02:45It was an action scene where they wanted me to deliver some lines
02:48and then fight and do my own thing.
02:50I'm telling you, I was so bad.
02:52But then I was confident.
02:54You know, I was a martial artist.
02:56I think everything I did was, hello, how are you?
02:58And I was whacked out.
03:00Absolutely, absolutely.
03:02But sweet.
03:04That's why I always remember, forget the audition,
03:06even my first film I was written off.
03:08But it was a hit, I thought.
03:10It was a blockbuster.
03:12Yes.
03:14But four people said, you know, he's wooden
03:16and he's bad.
03:18And it hurt.
03:20But when I went back,
03:22thought about it,
03:24I said, they don't matter to me.
03:26The box office matters to me.
03:28And they've liked me.
03:30But then when I saw myself, I said, I haven't been to school.
03:32I haven't had any acting knowledge.
03:34A formal training.
03:36Yeah. So, I need to improve.
03:38How do I improve? I couldn't go back to school.
03:40I had already signed ten films.
03:42And I was shooting those ten films simultaneously.
03:44I need to learn.
03:46So I learnt on the job.
03:48I observed younger actors.
03:50I observed experienced actors.
03:52Took a bit from Govinda, took a bit from Salman,
03:54took a bit from Akshay, took a bit from Ajay.
03:56Learned from all of them.
03:58And brushed my own skills.
04:00And then created a niche for myself.
04:02A typical style that belonged to Sunil Shetty.
04:04And yes, I'm here today.
04:06This is on a lighter note, of course.
04:08Can you say this dialogue?
04:10Let's do the Dhadkan one.
04:13So, it's typical is
04:15Anjali
04:17Anjali, I can't forget you.
04:19And you forget me.
04:21I won't let that happen.
04:23Now, in a sweet way, Anjali.
04:25You forget me.
04:27Husband won't mind, right?
04:29No, he wouldn't.
04:31You forget me.
04:33I can't forget you.
04:35I won't let that happen.
04:37Anjali.
04:39Okay, then.
04:41Come on, that's what we know you about.
04:43Anjali, I can't forget you.
04:45And you forget me.
04:47I won't let that happen.
04:49You are mine and will always be mine.
04:51But you know one thing.
04:53I got the award for the best
04:55negative for Dhadkan.
04:57That's because they wanted to balance it out
04:59by giving it to someone else.
05:01I deserve the best
05:03actor.
05:05Because, tell me, my lady love.
05:07She's in love with me.
05:09Her father forces her to marry
05:11someone else with a lot of money.
05:13How am I the
05:15villain?
05:17She should be the villain. She's left me and gone
05:19to someone else for money.
05:21I pursued her till the very end.
05:23So,
05:25What makes you the villain?
05:27Stalking was glorified as well, right?
05:29It's about letting go, man.
05:31These days, the political climate has changed.
05:33You were quite a toxic
05:35lover.
05:37In today's climate,
05:39would the father force
05:41the daughter to get married to
05:43someone she doesn't even know
05:45and not happy with?
05:47I hope you get best actor then.
05:49I'm just kidding.
05:51I'm just telling you.
05:53It's a very interesting point though.
05:55It is the woman who is the villain of the piece.
05:57We'll definitely go back to the movie.
05:59If you look at it that way, it should be.
06:01Because she dumped her.
06:03She said, I'll wait for you.
06:05You
