00:00As the buzzer raced the winds across the Emirates Golf Club on a chilly Wednesday morning, the
00:08Golf News Pro-AM team readied to tee off.
00:13The time was 7.30, the hole was 14.
00:16Students by weekday, golfers by weekend, Ayush Bakshi and Saransh Ranya and advertising
00:22strategist Inan Budhiraja, whose handicap hovers between scratch and two, began the
00:28round.
00:29So my handicap is between scratch and two, you know, I've been playing on and off erratically
00:35for the last few years, so it hasn't been as consistent as it should be, but when I
00:40was playing regularly it was about between, you know, scratch and two.
00:43Fortunately I've had the opportunity to play with a Pro-AM before, but I think one of the
00:48biggest things about these events is, you know, actually getting to, one, know the mindsets
00:53of professionals, and two, learning how they sort of, you know, overcome the hurdles and
00:58obstacles that they face, you know, along the course and along the day.
01:01So it's pretty interesting to see how they go about that versus how we go about that
01:05as amateurs.
01:06I'm probably playing with a really world-renowned player, he's a really famous player from India,
01:10and he's gone from, like, a greenkeeper and a caddy to, like, a world-renowned player,
01:15so I'm really looking forward to, like, learning from him and really understanding what goes
01:19through his mind when he plays the game.
