00:00Hundreds of Dubai residents, young and old, put their fitness gear on to take part in

00:16the kick-off of the Dubai Fitness Challenge on Friday at Safa Park.

00:20The month-long fitness challenge was launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al

00:25Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, to motivate residents

00:29and visitors to lead a healthy lifestyle.

00:34Participants of the challenge are asked to commit to doing a physical activity for 30

00:39minutes for 30 days.

00:40The initiative also aims to make Dubai one of the most active cities in the world.

00:47The opening week and carnival, which served as the kick-off event of the 30-day challenge,

00:52feature various activities designed to inspire residents and visitors to start their fitness

00:56journey.
