00:08The excise tax law shall come into force on October 1st 2017. In the UAE, the Ministry
00:14of Finance has said the tax shall impact all excise goods consumed inside the country,
00:19including all of the country's free zones and ports, said Yunus Haji Al Khoury, Under
00:24Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
00:26Commodities carried out of the country by outbound travellers shall not be impacted
00:30by the tax, while those carried into the country shall be subject to the new law.
00:35Eid al-Adha holidays for UAE federal authorities will be from Thursday August 31st to Sunday
00:40September 3rd. Work will resume on Monday September 4th. This was announced by the Federal
00:45Authority for Government Human Resources.
00:47US President Donald Trump revved up supporters with a defence of his response to a white
00:52supremacist organised rally in Virginia and a promise to shut down the US government if
00:56necessary to build a wall along the border with Mexico. Under fire for saying both sides
01:01were to blame for the violence between white supremacists and left-wing counter-protesters
01:05in Virginia on August 12th, Trump accused television networks of ignoring his calls
01:09for unity in the aftermath.

01:14said. I love all the people of our country. Police used pepper spray to disperse crowds
01:18after protesters through rocks and bottles outside the convention centre where Trump
01:22spoke.
01:23Transformers The Last Knight star Mark Wahlberg has outmuscled Dwayne Johnson to become Hollywood's
01:28highest paid actor in the past year with a transforming income of $68 million according
01:33to Forbes magazine. The former rapper known as Marky Mark beat out Baywatch star Johnson
01:39with $65 million and Johnson's The Fate of the Furious co-star Van Diesel worth $54.5
01:44million.
01:45And finally, the weather today is high across the UAE with 44 degrees Celsius dropping to
