00:00Impossible is the world's biggest magic show and it's so exciting because we show everything
00:08that there is in the world of magic and there's so much, there's grand illusion, there's escapology,
00:13there's death defying stunts, there's super dangerous things and then there's me sort
00:17of being funny and reading minds. So basically it's kind of the greatest magic show you could
00:22ever see because you will see every form of magic that's ever existed.
00:26I'm locked in a tank full of water with a lid, there's padlocks, so something like that
00:33and you never really feel relaxed. So I never turn up for a show going, oh we'll just get
00:37the show done today. There's always a little bit of pressure and nerves but I find that
00:42that's good. That's good. As soon as you're not nervous, I think that's when you need
00:47to start panicking.
00:48I really like to push the boundaries a little bit and get into the power struggles between
00:54men and women. Therefore I am the first woman who is sawing a guy in half on stage. So normally
01:02there's always a male magician with his assistants and sawing her in half but I'm going to perform
01:08that tomorrow with a guy.
01:10What I'll be doing is a mixture of close up street magic and because I used to be a break
01:16dancer, I have a lot of moves, dance moves and music in my act. So a bit of break dancing,
01:23back flips and street magic.
01:26I do close up magic, I do very big pieces of magic, I do some magic which is kind of
01:31rooted in storytelling. I do a bit of everything really so I don't know what to expect yet.
01:38I do a bit of improvisation so we'll see what happens.
01:41I am a mind reader who can't read minds. So the same as every other person basically.
01:47But basically my thing is I can't read your mind. No one can read minds but what I do
01:51is I use all sorts of different techniques to be able to get inside people's minds and
01:55then I find fun ways of kind of presenting that and being funny with it.
02:00This is a magic show and there's two females which is really something to talk about and
02:05it's wonderful because we can finally show that we can also do this and we can also do
02:10it well and we also have something to put on the table which is really exciting. That's
02:17probably what people are most shocked about when I say that I'm in a magic show. That
02:21a female magician isn't really something that you meet every day.
02:25I constantly keep practising and refining and making sure I'm more sharp because we
02:31do sleight of hand and you don't want to sort of get complacent and relaxed. You always
02:35want to improve yourself as a performer.
02:38I always think for magic you have to be very bright because you have to be able to do a
02:42lot of stuff at the same time. You have to talk and present it but yet you have to think
02:47and be alert yet you can't show it too much because otherwise you might see what I'm looking
02:53at or if I'm waiting or stuff. So I think the combination of all these skills is what
02:58makes it that you have to be a bit, I guess, intelligent to do this.
03:02When the show begins, as the audience is coming in, I'll find a little somewhere, a little
03:07gap to look through and I'll sort of just look at the audience and see what they look
03:13like. Yeah, you get a sense of what the audience is going to be like even as they come in.
03:18You listen, you just have to observe. Being a performer is just about being very attentive.
03:24Throughout history people have maybe seen magicians as dark and mysterious because maybe
03:29they were and they kept their secret. Magicians, we all guard our secrets and there's all that
03:34kind of subterfuge and hidden stuff and there was sabotage of magicians back in the 1900s
03:40and I think now it's more, it's kind of slightly more open and I think people are aware it's
03:47tricks and it's entertainment and we don't really have any of these powers and perhaps
03:51when people were trying to protect that and to make people think they had magic powers,
03:55we don't. Magic's not a real thing, we're just very good at making you think we can
04:00do it. That's our job is to create illusion and fantasy rather than to actually do it.
