00:00The 4th annual Think Science Fair held at the Dubai World Trade Center comprised a large-scale
00:09exhibition of youth projects from high schools and universities competing across 13 scientific
00:14sectors as well as experiential activities in science, engineering, oil and gas, energy,
00:19aviation and technology.
00:21The event is the largest of its kind in the region and aims to help young people actively
00:25engage with the digital revolution by providing them with solid science, technology and innovation
00:29skills while encouraging them to innovate and deploy technology that addresses some
00:33of today's broader socio-economic challenges.
00:36The cornerstone of the Think Science Fair is the competition, which has exhibitors competing
00:40in various scientific categories including vehicle design and aviation, systems for special
00:45needs and two new award categories, Think Science Public Sector Award and Think Science
00:50Industry Award.
00:51The whole idea of this project is to cool water without using any gases or gases that
00:56are actually very, very dangerous to the atmosphere such as carbon and fluorocarbons
01:02and all that stuff.
01:04So what this project is, it implements technology which is called the TEG or thermoelectric
01:09generator implemented, which is already in use in computers such as Apple computers and
01:14new laptops.
01:15One of the perks of this technology is that it has absolutely no noise pollution, it is
01:22efficient and it does not require a fan to actually cool it down.
01:27Our project is a wheelchair for special needs people, specifically for people who cannot
01:34move their hands to control the chair with a joystick or any controller.
01:40The wheelchair runs on your muscle movement, so basically you control the movement by moving
01:49one of your muscles, whether it's a facial muscle or any other muscle.
01:54Our project is Clear My Way, which is a fog detector which detects fog during the period
02:01of the fog happening.
02:03So the fog will cover the street and the sensor here will detect the fog and send a signal
02:12to the 555 to turn on the lights using this battery.
02:18So when a car wants to move from one lane to another, the driver here can see the car
02:26if it's moving or not because if he speeds up and crashes him without looking, this will
02:31cause an accident.
02:33The fair also acts as a platform to connect youth with experts through motivational sessions
02:37that focus on key areas in education and innovation.
