00:12Fresh clashes erupted between police and refugees on the Greek island of Lesbos on Monday night,

00:17which authorities said was on the verge of explosion, as Britain and France pledged to

00:22accept tens of thousands more refugees from the record influx.

00:26A dozen or so coast guards and riot police armed with batons struggled to control some

00:302,500 refugees on Lesbos as the crowds surged towards a government-chartered ship bound

00:36for Athens.

00:37The United States has asked Greece to ban Russian supply flights to Syria from its airspace,

00:42a Greek official said, amid growing US fears that Moscow is increasing its military backing

00:47for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

00:50Russia has asked Greece, which is a NATO member, to permit the passage of two planes between

00:54September 1 and 24.

00:56The three-day CityScape Global 2015 opened in Dubai today. Dubai's development activity

01:02will no longer be set within the established locations, a trend which will be on ample

01:06display at the event. Developers are homing in on a newer set of locations, heading in

01:11a southerly direction to locations in and around what is now known as Dubai South.

01:16Andy Murray crashed out of the US Open in the fourth round last night, his earliest

01:21Grand Slam exit in five years, while 17-time major winner Roger Federer advanced to the

01:26quarterfinals. South African 15th seed Kevin Anderson stunned British third seed Murray

01:31in four sets to end his run of 18 consecutive major quarterfinals since the 2010 US Open.

01:38It's over for Mad Men star Jon Hamm and filmmaker girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt. The couple

01:43has released a statement through publicist Annette Wolfe that with great sadness they

01:47were separating after 18 years. The couple, who were never married, said they would continue

01:52to be supportive of each other in every way possible.

01:55And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 40 degrees Celsius, dropping

01:59to 30 degrees at night.
