00:00Well, it's likely we've all heard of the X Factor, American Idol, The Voice. This is
00:12Champ of the Cap quarter final stage with 180 people left. Only 34 of them will progress
00:17to the semis. So let's go and find out a bit more about the competition.
00:21It's almost like a reality show because the contest goes on points. If the person sings
00:28the right song, then he gets 100 points. If he sings the wrong song, then he gets minus
00:3350 points. And at the end of each session, the team that scores the highest points is
00:42supposed to be the winner of that particular company that represents them forward in semifinals.
00:58How does it work? Well, they're in groups of two. That's three teams up there now. They're
01:13in groups of two. The winning duo will get 7,500 dirhams on October 16th in the final,
01:19as well as television sets and other electronic goods.
01:33Obviously these guys are having a great time here. They've been watching, listening, cheering,
01:38jeering even sometimes. But you can see it's something that they don't really get. And
01:41I think that's what the organizers are trying to emphasize on, to give them a little bit
01:45of respite from their daily work and their daily lives.
02:15These guys are some of the contestants here. And I must be honest, I find I'm enjoying
02:34myself a lot more than I thought I would, despite the fact that I don't understand the
02:37word they're saying. It's good fun.
03:35Well, as you can probably tell, it's been an incredibly warm evening. But I can't remember
03:47the last time I saw so many people smiling in one place in Dubai. These guys are a part
03:51of the population. We're often overlooked, but they work extremely hard to keep the UAE
03:55running. So it's fantastic to see them enjoying themselves, smiling, laughing, socializing
04:00and just generally having a good time. It's a great project. October 16th is the final
04:04day, by which time the camp will have a champ.
