00:11An Indian court has found a dentist couple guilty of slitting the throats of their teenage

00:16daughter and a servant after a murder trial that has gripped the country for five years.

00:21Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were convicted of killing 14-year-old Arushi and Nepalese employee

00:26Himraj, allegedly by cutting their throats with clinical precision using a dental scalpel

00:31at their home in an affluent New Delhi suburb in 2008. They will be sentenced later today.

00:37Pupils at Indian schools in Abu Dhabi who paid extra fees for compulsory classes in

00:42Arabic will be getting a refund from schools. The Abu Dhabi Education Council has asked

00:46the schools that collected extra fees for teaching Arabic in grades 11 and 12 to refund

00:51the fees. The subject isn't mandatory in those grades.

00:55Syrian peace talks planned for January 22nd are the best opportunity to form a transitional

01:00government, according to US Secretary of State John Kerry. The government in Damascus says

01:05there must be no preconditions to any peace talks. The Syrian opposition is divided over

01:10which group should represent it in Geneva, but the opposition insists President Bashar

01:15al-Assad must resign.

01:17US President Barack Obama has defended a deal between Iran and world powers on Tehran's

01:22nuclear program. He acknowledged that obstacles remain, but said tough talk and bluster did

01:27not guarantee US security. The six-month interim deal struck in Geneva on Sunday saw Iran agree

01:33to curb some of its nuclear activities in return for sanctions relief.

01:37The Dubai government intends to beef up its spending and revenues next year to further

01:41solidify the emirate's position as the leading economy in the region. The Dubai government

01:46announced that it's set to increase its spending by 11% to 37.88 billion dirhams and ramp up

01:53public revenues by 13% to 37 billion dirhams in 2014. And finally, weather. The daytime

01:59temperature will be 26 degrees Celsius, falling to 18 tonight.
