Egypt and Jordan firmly reject US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, Middle East policy analyst and former Pentagon Middle East advisor Jasmine El-Gamal says.

00:00I think it's important to keep in mind that none of this can happen without the acquiescence and

00:05the support of the Arab states. Now, you have Egypt and Jordan, the two countries that Donald

00:12Trump is saying should take in Palestinians from Gaza. They have both come out and said,

00:17absolutely not. That is not going to happen. Not only because they refuse to participate

00:24in any type of forced relocation or ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza,

00:30but also because they worry about the stability of their own countries and their own economies.

00:35And if you have those two countries, Saudi Arabia also came out over the weekend condemning these

00:42plans and these types of conversations. So if you have the Arab countries united in basically

00:47rejecting Donald Trump's plan, then one has to ask, is this really realistic? Or is he saying

00:53this as a way to push other countries to come up with their own solutions and their own plans
